SPIRIT has presented the first video conferencing server VideoMost on processors with ARM architecture.
VideoMost software server for video conferencing with clients on PCs and mobile devices has been ported to Huawei’s flagship Kunpeng processor, one of the world’s highest performing processors.
The Huawei and VideoMost project includes: the transfer of about 2 million lines of VideoMost code to Huawei Kunpeng; porting all standard and proprietary technologies, protocols, audio and video codecs supported by VideoMost and ensuring its compatibility with other software and hardware video conferencing solutions to the ARM architecture.
As a result, all VideoMost functionality for providing video conferencing with support for collaboration tools was successfully and fully migrated to Huawei Kunpeng. A performance boost was obtained, while maintaining all the video and audio quality settings of VideoMost.
VideoMost on Huawei Kunpeng supports up to 6000 simultaneous connections (ports) on 1 server and is the most cost-effective solution for on-premises systems. Compared to x86 videoconferencing servers on Huawei Kunpeng, the customer’s costs for data center infrastructure are reduced by 2-3 times. At the same time, Huawei Kunpeng allows VideoMost partners, telecom operators and service providers, to reduce the cost of cloud video conferencing services based on VideoMost by 40-60%.
